My husband and I had guests over and I decided to break my tradition of serving a store bought dessert.
I always cook the main meal myself, and usually go with President’s Choice Gluten-Free Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf Cake for an after dinner treat – this cake, by the way, is always well received. I must say I am impressed with PC’s gluten free products, and I hope they produce more.
But back to the real subject of this post: my homemade dessert. I had gotten the idea from my mom, who had surprised me a few weeks back with a flourless chocolate cake. It was tasty and it seemed like an easy recipe. I tweaked it a bit to satisfy my obsession with peanut butter and chocolate, and what I made was positively decadent.
Recipe for Flourless Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bars

- 5 one-ounce squares of semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/3 cup Reese’s peanut butter chips
- ½ cup margarine
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 3 beaten eggs
- 8-inch baking pan
What you have to do
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F
- Melt the butter, semi-sweet chocolate squares, and Reese’s peanut butter chips together
- Add the sugar, cocoa powder, and eggs
- Grease the 8-inch baking pan and dust with cocoa powder
- Pour the batter into the pan and cook for 35 minutes

Cut this into bars and enjoy!
